We've had a few instances of people throwing dog poop in anger, but this is the first time we've come across someone throwing the dog that did the pooping. Long Island man Jaime Sanchez has been charged with torturing animals and reckless endangerment after throwing his neighbors 1-year-old dachshund into the street, angry that the dog, named Coco, may have been planning to relieve itself on his lawn. Future President Donald Trump Is Not Always Very Good About Voting

Another day, another poll lending credibility to Donald Trump's very serious presidential campaign: Trump was tied for first place with "thin-skinned" Mike Huckabee in the newest Gallup poll of Republicans' choices for the 2012 presidential nomination. But isn't it a bit hypocritical for someone who didn't vote in primary elections for more than two decades to run in a primary himself?... [ MORE ]

Some Cyclists Think Bike Lanes Are "Death Traps"

A few vocal bikers are complaining about some of the new bike lanes, specifically the ones built in between sidewalks and rows of parked cars, saying bikers have to not only dodge parked cars, but pedestrians too. "They're death traps and they're very poorly designed," biker Dan Durller told WSJ. Would it help if drivers stopped being jerks too?... [ MORE ]

Pope Benedict's Easter Message: Stop Fighting In Libya, Humanity Is From God

Today, Pope Benedict gave his Easter message to the Catholic masses from the Vatican, and urged that the fighting in Libya end, "In the current conflict in Libya, may diplomacy and dialogue replace arms, and may those who suffer as a result of the conflict be given access to humanitarian aid," and held hope for peaceful resolutions in North Africa and the Middle East, "May all citizens, especially young people, work to promote the common good."... If there's one thing 17-year-olds with fake IDs listen to, it's signs. So someone on the LES is trying to alert them to the Seventh Precinct's crusade against underage drinking. EV Grieve has these photos of a sign on Houston Street and Ludlow Street. More proof of a class-based conspiracy?... [ MORE ]
