Is Shark Fin Soup Losing Popularity?

_Is Shark Fin Soup Losing Popularity?
The controversial shark fin soup is still being served in New York, even if some restaurants don't want to admit it. But if it lost its popularity in China, would America follow suit? According to a survey of about 1,000 Hong Kong residents (below), the popularity of shark fin soup seems to be waning, and many are finding it more acceptable to leave it off the menu at wedding banquets and large gatherings, when it is traditionally served. However, about nine percent of those surveyed were under the impression that shark fins could grow back after being cut off. Bloomberg Chides Trump And Republicans For Birther Rhetoric

Yesterday, WWE Raw enthusiast Donald Trump was criticized for his less than exemplary primary voting record. But today, he got a bit of a tongue-lashing for his obsession with President Obama's birth certificate by fellow member of the billionaire's-club, Mayor Bloomberg. “The Republicans are making a terrible mistake in making this a big issue. We have immigration, we have the deficit, we have the economy. Those are the things that the public cares about,” he said on FoxNews this morning.... [ MORE ]

Why is it so hard to just get your jollies on at the library in peace? Last week, two men got into a good old-fashioned fistfight over the amount of time one was taking to watch his porn in the Brooklyn Public Library. Today, the library is scrambling to defend our God-given right to self-pleasure in the comfort of their walled-in viewing stations, following a Catholic League-quoting report from The Post. ... Cops Figured Out Ways To Beat Electronic Scanners To Fix Tickets

After it was revealed that more than 400 cops could be facing disciplinary charges in a massive ticket-fixing scheme, Mayor Bloomberg discussed the seriousness and implications of the probe, which has been going on for nearly three year, on Friday. However, he noted that since July, the NYPD has adopted a new computer system to track tickets; as a result, he said "it would be very hard to manipulate the system." It seems that some cops didn't think it was that difficult.... [ MORE ]

Unions To Protest Wall Street, Bloomberg on May 12

Sharpen your pitchforks and burn your Brooks Brothers, because the "fat cat" members of the city's unions are planning to protest against Wall Street's callous disregard for humanity lopsided profits and Bloomberg's slash-and-burn policies on May 12. Billed as "The Day We Made Wall Street Stand Still" (they'll also have to shut down Hillstone), members of the United Federation of Teachers, 1199 SEIU and the Coalition for the Homeless will attempt to shame the well-heeled folks who "wrecked our economy and are back to making billions in profits and lavish bonuses, while the rest of us are still cleaning up the mess," the Daily News reports.... Man Slashed In Face With Sword In Queens Sikh Dispute

Amidst concerns of another Easter wilding in Times Square, violence ended up breaking out this Easter in an unlikely place: Inside the Baba Makhan Shah Lubana Sikh Center in Queens. Seven men were arrested there yesterday after a dispute in the center's leadership led a man to be slashed in the face with a 40" sword, while others were attacked with cricket bats and balls....
