| Posted: 07 Mar 2011 10:25 AM PST We've seen some great gadgets and equipment for designers. So many cool stuff, that we could actually assemble infinite perfect office spaces! Every week we'll assemble a perfect office, and we'd like you to help us. What equipment would the perfect office have?<!--break--> Not only gadgets and equipment, but also furniture, sound system, gaming stuff (for lunch time!). A designer is totally allowed to dream with the perfect office, and that's what we're gonna do here! Also, tell us your suggestions, or even better, you may tell us via twitter (mine and fabio's), using #abdz_ofc so we can check it. Alright? I hope you guys enjoy this brief selection. Cheers! ;) Francis Lamps by DMOCHThe Swedish design duo of David Ericsson & Marcus Berg have created the Francis Lamps. (at Contemporist) New Star Wars Bookends Feature Boba Fett And Co.What you see below are a pair of Jabba's Palace themed bookends for whatever collection of yours needs bookending. It stars Boba Fett plus that orc dude with an axe, another bounty hunter who's actually Princess Leia in disguise, and dear old Hans Solo in his carbonite prison. (at Geeky Gadgets) Puzzling Optical Illusion Bookshelf with a Beautiful Minimalist DesignThis highly creative shelving system was designed by John Leung from ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects and has a very intriguing appearance. According to the designer "the bookshelf looks cartoony and almost invisible but that's not even the real illusion, the real mind bender is that there are what seems like 4 shelves on the left side but only 3 shelves on the right side". We really like this feature, even though it could cause some misunderstandings when it comes to asking your girlfriend to "grab that CD on the 2nd row" for example. Simple, practical and quite stylish, the unit can serve as a storage device for small objects such as books and CDs. Be sure to check out the video at the end of the post for a general understanding of how this shelving unit can puzzle the mind. (at Freshome) Gamer iPad SleeveDisguise your iPad as an oversized retro 8-bit gaming device that we all loved, Game Boy. Made of two felt layers that will keep your iPad safe and sound. (at Holy Cool) Pixel SeatingPixel is a new seating system from Not Tom, a small newish London-based design studio. Based on the LCD pixel, this upholstered bench can be used in commercial spaces like reception areas and can be assembled in a variety of configurations. Because it is supported by a steel frame, it is visually light yet sturdy. (at Design Milk) New Aspire Timeline NotebooksInside the latest Acer Aspire Timeline notebooks you will find an Intel Core i5-2410M processor, plus NVIDIA GeForce GT540M graphics, and there will be a range of different display sizes which include 13 and 14 inch models.

| Posted: 07 Mar 2011 06:07 AM PST Is really funny how internet at the same time that brings us some fresh artists, it just don't tell us more about them. AJ Fosink is one this cases, he got just a Myspace account and a Flickr, with no references about his person. The first time I saw his artworks I though they were hyper realistic paintings, however I got quite confused when I discovered it was all about wood, paint and nails.I found his artworks in many art and design related websites, but it was hard to discover who was the original creator of these pieces. You can see some of his works at his Flickr and a interview here. |

| World Collabs 4 Winning Entry Tutorial by Mat Macquarrie Posted: 06 Mar 2011 10:04 PM PST Hello and welcome, this is a quick tutorial on how I created my poster concept for the World Collabs 4 competition. The tricky thing about planning a tutorial like this is, I created the elements with the 3D shapes from Joao Oliveira. |
