The New Yorker Covers

Eric Drooker is a native New Yorker, born and raised on Manhattan Island. His paintings appear frequently on covers of The New Yorker, and hang in numerous collections. He's also the award-winning author of several books, including "Flood! A Novel in Pictures" and "Blood Song: A Silent Ballad."

Visualizing answers to artistic questions is a full-time job. I enjoy solving problems that challenge my powers of creativity. Most of my strongest images spring from dreams which have haunted me over the years. The Big City has been a recurring dream all my life, and fittingly, is the subject of much of my art. Being born and raised in Manhattan must have had something to do with it. Many of the New Yorker covers I've created were painted from vivid memories and urban epiphanies.

Introducing: Chris Halderman

As we mentioned several times, we really like to present new artists to our community, artists that are young, creative, recently arrived at the design field and stuff like that. Today we will present the work of Chris Halderman, a 19 years old graphic designer from Netherlands who is also our reader.

Chris is currently following a Graphic Design course at the Grafisch Lyceum Utrecht, but has been working with Adobe Photoshop for a while and used the help of several blogs and tutorials to improve his skills. Check out some of his artworks and also visit his Flickr Gallery for further pieces.

Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. We can almost call it a "relic city", she has one extense architectonic patrimony, with many churches, castles, museums and old buildings, it's almost a travel back in time.
